Containerization is one of the biggest buzzwords in IT right now, and not without good reason. It has the possibility to save a company money and decrease service and product development times. If you’re interested in containers then you are not alone. In its Market Guide for Container Management Software, industry analysts Gartner, predicted that by 2020, more than 50% of global enterprises will be running containerized applications in production, up from less than 20% today.
Another major survey in early 2017 found that 69% of companies are making an investment in containers, up from 52% in 2016. It also predicts that the proportion of companies investing more than USD $1M in personnel skilled in container technology will double, and the proportion investing more than $500K will triple from 2016 to 2017.
