该数据集报告了在亚马逊流域多个森林和牧场以及自由对流层收集的大气二氧化碳 (CO2) 的碳氧稳定同位素比值。该数据集包含三个以逗号分隔的 ASCII 文件。

1999 年 3 月至 2004 年 3 月期间,在巴西亚马逊地区的亚马逊州、帕拉州和朗多尼亚州的十个不同的森林和牧场冠层地点测量了大气中的二氧化碳浓度和同位素特征。收集了白天和夜间剖面样本。

2003 年 5 月(雨季),飞机在亚马逊河/塔帕若斯河、FLONA 塔帕若斯河以及牧场/农业区上空飞行了五天,采集了对流层二氧化碳样本。对样本进行了大气二氧化碳碳氧同位素分析。飞行高度范围从低空到昼夜对流层边界层以上。

测量大气中二氧化碳 (CO2) 的碳氧稳定同位素比值,是跨多个空间尺度监测陆地大规模二氧化碳交换的有力指标。叶片组织和呼吸作用释放的二氧化碳的稳定碳同位素组成 (delta r) 可用于估算生态系统同位素鉴别的变化,这种变化是由于环境条件的季节性变化和年际变化以及土地利用变化(森林-牧场转化)而发生的。了解二氧化碳稳定同位素组成,对于我们理解陆地生态系统的碳汇作用程度至关重要。
