Microsoft’s Foundation Services SharePoint team is responsible for enterprise search, content distribution, portal strategies, and collaboration platform strategies within Microsoft IT. We develop cutting edge solutions leveraging MOSS 2010 to meet the diverse requirements of Microsoft’s internal business portals. The applications we build are customer showcases for how to integrate custom development with MOSS 2010 out of the box features and address such areas as social computing, information discovery, and enterprise content management.
Foundation Services SharePoint is looking for developers to join the Foundation Services SharePoint team in Beijing. Working closely with PM, Test, operations, and business peers, you will have a large role in designing, and building extensible, enterprise social applications and services in a fast paced environment for some of the industry’s most demanding customers – Microsoft employees. Assignments in this role would include architecture, design, development, testing, and implementation of applications using the .NET Framework, RIA (SharePoint/Asp.net, Silverlight, WPF, Ajax), C#, and Office Server/Client.
Primary Responsibilities
• Collaborate with internal and external application, development, test, and business teams
• Design and build extensible applications on the MOSS 2010 platform.
• Prototype custom solutions on future releases of SharePoint/WSS.
Qualifications
• Fluent in English and Chinese. Being able to read and write English is a must
• BS/BA in computer science, Engineering, or related discipline
• 3+ years of solid development experience
• Good object oriented design skills
• Strong knowledge of application development which solves business needs in a web environment. Experience in specific Microsoft technologies such as ASP/ASP.Net is a plus.
• Strong knowledge of SQL design.
· Fluent verbal and written language skills in English.
• Systems experience in environments that utilize IIS, SharePoint/WSS, SQL Server, and Active Directory
• Attention to detail and the ability to master new applications and technologies quickly
• Preferred: Programming experience with SharePoint/WSS is a plus
• Preferred: Proven ability to design large scale system architecture with Microsoft technologies, and make sound trade-offs without compromising quality and schedule.
• Preferred: Experience working with geo-distributed teams.
